Shazaam
Everyone knows how to obsess about bad scrimmages or bad jams or that one hit that would have been perfect if you’d moved a second sooner. I shall say fuck that noise. I had an awesome scrimmage tonight. Not just that I played awesome, everyone did. There was such a great amount of team work and communication between girls that show up for a pick up scrimmage, separate into random teams, and play without keeping score. I was really proud of everyone and actually remembered what it’s like to have total confidence in my blocking. Also, how big of a lady boner I get when I hear “someone get on Blitz” multiple times. A retired TXRG vet who’s one of my favorite people ever told me she loves when I’m in the pack because she can always trust that I’ll be there for her. My heart smiled. I hope my derby friends reading this get one of these scrimmage nights soon and always. This is roller derby.
